A 37-unit Koreatown affordable housing project is planned for a vacant corner lot at 898 S. Crenshaw Blvd., bringing new studio apartments reserved for low- and moderate-income renters.

According to filings with the Los Angeles City Planning Department on Oct. 24, Angeleno Investments proposes a four-story apartment building using the city’s density-bonus program to exceed base zoning in exchange for on-site affordability.
Plans show no dedicated parking garage. All 37 units are studios: 28 designated for low-income tenants, 8 for moderate-income renters, and 1 for an on-site manager’s unit.
The applicant has pursued similar affordable-housing developments elsewhere in Los Angeles, including projects in Reseda and North Hollywood.
