AI Credit Dispute Tool? Popular Among Consumers

Personal finance platform Kikoff has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered tool that allows users to quickly identify and correct errors on their credit reports — and the response has been strong.

The feature, called AI Credit Disputes, was introduced earlier this summer and has already been used more than 70,000 times in just two months, according to Kikoff co-founder and CEO Cynthia Chen. She described the early feedback as “overwhelmingly positive.”

Accessible directly through the Kikoff app, the tool helps consumers detect mistakes in their credit reports and file disputes with credit bureau Equifax with just a few taps. The service is available at no additional cost to Kikoff subscribers, whose credit-building plans start at $5 per month.

“Now anyone can easily spot errors, file disputes, and move forward toward better financial opportunities,” Chen said.

The launch follows a Consumer Reports study showing that nearly half of consumers who recently checked their credit reports found errors, with more than one-quarter discovering mistakes serious enough to damage their credit scores and limit access to financial products. Kikoff emphasized that filing a dispute does not negatively affect credit scores.

For users, the new tool has already made a tangible difference. Ashley Weeks, a Florida resident, said she previously found the credit dispute process “confusing and frustrating.” After switching to Kikoff’s service, however, “it was so much easier, and seeing the prepared letter gave me confidence. I really believe it helped lead to a better outcome.”

Experts say the launch is part of a broader trend of AI integration into personal finance and credit management. As Chen noted, “This is only the beginning of how AI can help empower consumers in managing their financial futures.”
