The Chinese restaurant Hongyeon in Koreatown, Los Angeles has been closed since July 2025 and is now listed online as “permanently closed.”

Hongyeon relocated in November 2024 to the former site of Yonggung, but operations have not resumed since July. Business listings on Yelp and Google mark the restaurant as permanently shut. The Korea Daily attempted to contact the restaurant’s owner to confirm the reason but was unable to reach them.
Located at 966 Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90006, Hongyeon was known for serving jjajangmyeon and other Korean-style Chinese specialties, with average prices of $20–30 per person.
Beyond its menu, Hongyeon was recognized as one of Koreatown’s larger Chinese restaurants, often serving as a venue for family gatherings, private events, and community functions.
