The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has launched a new internship designed to support high school students in launching careers in high-paying industries.
On July 2, LAUSD officially announced the program, which it operates in partnership with the Broad Foundation.
The program connects students with paid, career-linked internships during summer break offering them real-world experience in industries such as healthcare, aviation, and technology — fields known for high earning potential.
“The second-largest school district in the country, LAUSD, is expanding access to career training for the next generation,” the district stated. It added that the program is expected to provide students with not just a simple experience, but a meaningful stepping stone toward real careers.
There is no cost to participate, and the program is open to all high school students in the Los Angeles area. More information is available on the LAUSD website (lausd.org).
