White House nominates Anne Hwang as federal judge for central district of California

The White House has nominated Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Anne Hwang to serve on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Judge Hwang, who has served as a Superior Court judge since 2019, previously worked as a Deputy Federal Public Defender in the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California from 2006 to 2018.

Judge Hwang graduated from Cornell University in 1997, received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 2002, and worked as a litigation associate at Irell & Manella LLP from 2002 to 2006.
