The Los Angeles Times suspended newspaper delivery services to an apartment complex in Hawaiian Gardens, citing safety concerns.
The suspension affects residents of the Hawaiian Gardens Apartment located at 11900 to 11966 Centralia Street, as well as those in the nearby area at 21900 to 21999 Belshire Avenue.

The LA Times cited that the decision to halt deliveries is based on the significant safety risks posed to their carriers in the specified area.
According to the publication, the delivery personnel have faced severe threats, including being threatened with firearms and an incident where a carrier was shot.
The carrier has been responsible for distributing not only the LA Times but also the Korea Daily and other newspapers to subscribers in the area.
The companies have made it clear that services will not resume until the safety of their delivery personnel can be guaranteed and substantial measures are implemented to mitigate these risks.
It is estimated that around 50 Korean-American families live in the affected apartment complex, with 11 of them being subscribers to the Korea Daily.
The community and the newspapers are deeply concerned about the situation and are eager to find a resolution that will allow the safe resumption of newspaper delivery services.
