Hands Across Koreatown – A Calling for Unity

1992 Los Angeles Riots have left brutal scars on people from various ethnic groups. At the same time, the riots gave an opportunity to better understand others engaged in the community. To commemorate the victims and to remind the important lesson learned from the L.A. Riots, “Hands Across Koreatown” will be held on April 30th.

This event is to be held at 10am. In this morning, about 1,000 people will gather between Wilshire Blvd and Western Ave and march along Wilshire Blvd to Normandy Ave. Various ethnic groups are participating, including but not limited to Korean American, Latino, and African American communities living in the area.

Thirty organizations, including Happy Village and KAYP are joining the march. Through “Hands Across Koreatown,” participants are to express hope for the unification of multi-ethnic, multi-racial K-town community.
