LA County Holiday Celebration returns to LA Music Center on Christmas Eve

This year’s LA County Holiday Celebration will be held at the LA Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on December 24 featuring 23 music ensembles, choirs, and dance performances.

The 64th annual LA County Holiday Celebration is coming to LA Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Christmas Eve, December 24. The event is free and open to the public.

The Countywide holiday celebration is LA County’s largest community-wide multicultural event, and it is presented by the LA County Board of Supervisors and the LA County Arts Commission.

For over 60 years, the celebration has featured a diverse array of LA-based artists and community groups, providing a rich and diverse cultural experience for thousands of residents with three hours of instrumental, choral, and dance performances.

Co-hosted by Hispanic opera legend mezzo-soprano Suzanna Guzmán and actor Danny J. Gomez, this year’s event features 23 musical performers, choirs, and dance companies representing LA County communities. Artists from Los Angeles, Pasadena, Downtown LA, South LA, Culver City, and more will showcase traditional cultural performances, Christmas and Hanukkah music from Korea, China, Japan, India, Mexico, France, Ukraine, and Bulgaria.

Returning this year are Grammy Award-winning female mariachi group Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, Jewish band Mostly Kosher, and dance ensemble Reverb Tap Company. First-time performers include the Hiza Yoo Korean Dance Institute, Bulgarian dance ensemble XoroTropzi, America’s Got Talent quarterfinalists Divas and Drummers of Compton, and the Carnegie Gospel Choir.

Hiza Yoo Korean Dance Institute will present ‘Y Nanta’, an original work created and produced by Seung Hwan Song that blends traditional samulnori rhythms into a Korean performance.

Attendees can enjoy the LA County Holiday Celebration in person at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, or remotely via live streaming on PBS and the PBS app.

Admission to the event is free and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit its website HolidayCelebration.org, or call (213)972-3099.
