President Yoon Suk Yeol, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and U.S. President Joe Biden met Thursday, local time, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in San Francisco.

Their reunion comes three months after their trilateral summit at Camp David in August.

Yoon had a summit with Kishida earlier in the day at a hotel in San Francisco.

Two leaders promised to put more effort into bilateral ties between Korea and Japan in diplomacy, security and economy, aiming to produce substantial outcomes.

They noted the recent cooperation between Korea and Japan that helped each other’s nationals evacuate from Israel amid its conflict with Hamas.

“As Korea, the United States and Japan will serve together as members of the U.N. Security Council starting next year, they agreed the three countries will cooperate on North Korea, Ukraine and other key security issues based on the Spirit of Camp David,” the presidential office said in a press release.

According to the office, the bilateral talk on Thursday, which lasted 35 minutes, has become the seventh summit between two countries this year.
