Choi Si-won from boy band Super Junior was appointed as the advisor at the Korea Association Against Drug Abuse, the agency announced Thursday.

Choi will participate in the association’s future events and promotions to provide information about the side effects of illegal drugs.

“Celebrities and renowned personalities getting caught using illegal drugs […] may result in teenagers copying such actions, which is a problem in our society,” Choi Phil-yeo, the Chairman of the Korea Association Against Drug Abuse, said Thursday in a press release.

“I’m glad that Choi Si-won, a righteous and upright entertainer, now sits at the forefront of the battle against illegal drugs.”
