Elderly Asian couple in Bel Air sustain home invasion robbery

[KTLA]
An elderly Asian couple living in Bel Air, a well-known wealthy neighborhood in LA City, was assaulted for hours and robbed of a large amount of cash by armed intruders on April 28.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), three to four armed robbers broke into the home in the 1300 block of Casiano Road in Bel Air at around 8 p.m., assaulted and robbed the homeowners, the elderly Asian couple, before fleeing the scene.

The Asian couple, both in their 70s, were watching TV when the robbers broke in, tied them up, and beat them.

“The armed robbers, wearing masks, ransacked the house for four hours, stealing cash and a safe before fleeing. I got a call from my dad around 12:30 a.m., saying they broke in,” the couple’s son said to KCAL News.

The robber suspects reportedly used bleach to destroy fingerprints and evidence around the home. Police are asking for tips (800 222-TIPS) from anyone with information and are working to secure security camera footage from around the home.
