A Korean-American police officer at the Washington DC Police Department was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident while returning home from his shift.
The DC Police Department announced on April 25 the death of Sgt. Jin Park, 32, an 11-year veteran of the 4th District Metropolitan Police Department. The accident occurred at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Aspen Street in the Takoma area of Northwest D.C. The exact circumstances of the crash are not known.
“Our heartfelt sympathies are with the Park family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” said Robert Contee, chief of DC Police, in a statement.
