It’s Easy to Find Korean Insurance Agents

The California Department of Insurance has launched a service to bridge the language gap for insurance consumers. The new online tool, called the language locator service, will make it easier for consumers to find insurance agents in their area who speak their native language.

No separate registration is needed for the service. Anyone interested can go on the website (https://interactive.web.insurance.ca.gov/apex_extprd/f?p=119%3a1) and see the list of agents who suit their needs, such as their licenses, types of insurance, spoken language, activity area and zip code.

The search result will then show the names, addresses, office locations and license status for every available agent.

The website shows that there are 300 life insurance agents who can speak Korean within 50 mile radius from Los Angeles Koreatown, while there are 210 car insurance and 300 health insurance agents.

Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones urged consumers to begin using the service that was launched on April 3. The service is also available on mobile phones.
