A Korean international student has been arrested by police on suspicion of alleged sexual assault.
According to local media ‘WYFF News 4’, the incident occurred at Presbyterian College (PC) in Clinton, South Carolina.
Jaeyeong Yoo, 23, a student at the school, was charged with kidnapping and third-degree criminal sexual conduct on February 25.
According to the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), on February 24, Yoo grabbed the victim, prevented them from leaving a residence hall on campus, and engaged in sexual battery.

Upon learning of the incident, the Presbyterian College Campus Police Department requested the SLED to investigate, and Yoo was charged on February 25.
He is currently being booked at the Laurens County Detention Center.
According to the school, Yoo is an international student attending the school where the incident occurred. No other information was released, including whether the victim was a student.
“On Sunday, February 25, a student reported to Presbyterian College Campus Police that they had been sexually assaulted in Georgia Hall on Friday, February 23. A thorough investigation began immediately, and the alleged assailant was arrested on Sunday evening. They are currently being held without bail,” the school said in a statement on February 26, adding, “At Presbyterian College, we take the safety of our community very seriously. Students, faculty, and staff must feel safe, secure, and protected at all costs.”
