Yoo Jae Suk, a Korean comedian, recently made a donation to House of Sharing, a welfare center for the “Comfort Women.” “Comfort Women” are women and girls who were coerced into sexual slavery for Japanese soldiers during World War II.
On August 12, House of Sharing announced that Yoo Jae Suk has donated 50 million KRW (approximately $43,400) to the center the day before. The center plans to spend 30 million KRW for the construction of Peace Human Rights Center and the remaining 20 million KRW to support the victims’ welfare.
According to House of Sharing, Yoo Jae Suk has made donations to the center since 2014 to support “Comfort Women” victims. He has donated a total of 160 million KRW to the welfare center so far.
