When you’re bored with your life, you need some new stimulates to wake your senses up. Let’s start with your taste buds. If you find regular cupcakes and ice creams boring, here are some mind-blowing desserts that will lead you away from familiarity.
1. Ube Cupcake from Cafe 86
From Ube milkshake to Ube ice cream, you can find every variation of Ube at Cafe 86. Among all kinds of variety, Ube flan cupcake is the absolute highlight. With the caramel syrup flowing down from the topped flan through the cupcake, Ube cupcake is perfectly moist and tasteful to the last bite. If you’re not a big fan of Ube (which I will secretly judge), try their Churrochi, a mochi batter covered in cinnamon then drizzled with caramel.

2. Bread Pudding from B Sweet
B Sweet Dessert Bar is a heaven for dessert lovers where bunch of tremendous desserts, including Sluttiest brownie (layers of Chocolate chip cookie, Oreo cookie, graham cracker, marshmallow and yup… brownie) and Halo (pressed Ice cream sandwich) are found. Among them, variety of bread puddings is the signature menu at B Sweet. With variety, I mean it – they have more than 40 rotating flavors! You can also top your hot bread pudding with ice cream.

3. Churro Borough
Choose your favorite from the variety of ice cream flavors. They will sandwich it between freshly fried, warm and crispy churro disks. Ice cream starts melting upon receiving, but there is no need to worry. You will finish it far before it melts away. Spanish Latte, Spicy Hot Chocolate, and Blackberry Cheesecake flavors are uniquely tasteful, but you will find that it’s impossible to go wrong with any flavor when it is sandwiched between warm, crispy churros.

4. Milky Bun from Afters Ice Cream
It’s hard to doubt that anything with ice cream in between can’t go wrong. If there is a piece of doubt left at the corner of your mind, go to Afters and grab a Milky bun, an ice cream stuffed donut-like pastry. Your choice of ice cream is sandwiched between soft, fresh buns, glazed or non-glazed as you want, and topped with cereals and other toppings. Flavors include cookie monster (it’s a bluest ice cream, but still really good), milk & cereal, cookie butter, etc.

5. Belgian Liege Waffles from Shaky Alibi
Before you doubt it as a dessert menu, let me mention that it is different from those breakfast waffles! Liege Waffles does not require butter and syrup -this unique waffle is made from yeast dough rather than batter and is lightly coated with Belgian pearl sugar. It’s dense and chewy on the inside, caramelized and crunchy on the outside. When topped with your favorite among ice cream, fresh fruits, and imported spreads, your dessert waffle is good to go.
