High School Rapper is an upcoming rap battle show Mnet is releasing next month. As the title of it implies, High School Rapper is a show set in high school, which invites teenage rappers to compete their rap skills. Through a series of rap competitions, the show aims to excavate new talents and shed a new light to the youth culture.

While Haha and Jung Joon-ha are set to emcee the show, a number of names are making audiences excited already. For the mentor line-up, big names like YDG and Swings are listed as of now. It’s also been reported that Tiger JK is producing the final track for the winner.

Participant line-up is filled with excitements as well. First, MC Gree (although he’s not a “high school” rapper anymore) is making an appearance to prove his ability as a rapper. Show Me the Money‘s famed teenage rapper, Yang Hong-won (Young B) and boy group NCT’s member Mark are also set to showcase their rap skills.

“Although it’s a high school rap battle, participants’ competences are beyond expectation,” said a source from the show. “It won’t go as aggressive as Show Me the Money, but teenagers’ vigorous competitions and the cast line-up will make the show worth watching.”

High School Rapper is currently having local auditions. The show will premiere in February.
