Kim Min-hee Making Move to “Return” to Entertainment Business

Actress Kim Min-hee (34) will return soon.

Kim, who has stopped all activities since her scandal with director Hong Sang-soo (56), will work again with her old manager.

Many officials in the film industry reported, “Kim Min-hee has been meeting her old manager, who quit after this year’s Cannes Film Festival. It seems that she is making a move to come back to the entertainment business.”

They continued and said, “she has been receiving synopsis of many movies through her personal email. There was no single incident that she talked about her relationship with Director Hong, nor she has never retired from the Entertainment industry. There are still a lot of people who want to cast Kim in their films. She showed such a good performance in her recent film The Handmaiden, so she is number one in many casting lists”.

Kim Min-hee showed a great performance in The Handmaiden, which gained 4,280,000 audiences. At the ‘2016 Directors Cut Awards with JIMFF’, which opened after her scandal, she won the ‘best actress’ award. Kim of course did not attend.

The award was given after multiple directors’ selection of winner, and director Lee Hyun-seung at the award said, “I knew that she would do something amazing as soon as I heard she would work with director Park Chan-wook. Directors’s minds have not changed. Min-hee, us directors love you”.

The news about Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo’s affair scandal were released in last June. The two have stayed together in foreign countries, but they never mentioned about it.
