Musical adaptation of world-popular Japanese manga series, Boys Over Flowers, has unveiled its cast prior to the premier on February 24.
Boys Over Flowers is the legend of Japanese romance genre, serialized for 12 years since 1992. After the success of original work, it has been adapted into drama series in countries including Japan and Korea, Taiwan, China, and India.
The musical adaptation of Boys Over Flowers has launched last year in Japan, with the production of a leading creative team in Japan. After its success in Japan, the musical is to be staged in Korea as well.
Boys Over Flowers The Musical is directed by Suzuki Yumi and its songs are written by Honma Akimitsu, while Lee Sung-joon is taking in charge of the musical production. While the three as a team guarantees the performance’s quality, its star casting gives another reason not to miss the show.
Cast members for Tsukasa Doumyouji – a.k.a. Gu Jun-pyo – are Lee Chang-sub of BTOB, Ken of VIXX, and musical actor Kim Ji-hui. The musical stars SM Entertainment’s singer J-Min and Min of Miss A for the female lead Tsukushi Makino, Sung-min of Super Junior, musical actor Jung-hwi, and Kim Tae-oh for the second male lead Rui Hanazawa.
Boys Over Flowers The Musical will be on stage from February 24 to May 7 at Hongik Daehangno Artcenter.
