Girl group I.O.I will return with their final song of the year with help from pop star and producer J.Y Park.
The group’s agency YMC Entertainment said on Thursday that their upcoming return in October will feature a track created by Park.
Band member Jeon Somi is also represented by Park’s agency, JYP Entertainment, and this will be the first time the two will be collaborating on a song.
Jeon previously participated in the Mnet competition program “SIXTEEN” to be a member of current JYP girl group TWICE, but was disqualified. She then entered “PRODUCE 101” and was successfully voted by viewers to be a member of the YMC girl group.
Park is a longtime veteran in the K-pop industry, directly responsible for creating songs of popular groups such as Wonder Girls, Miss A, and GOT7. He has also had a successful solo singing career since his debut in 1994 with album “Blue City.” He recently collaborated with US comedian Conan O’Brien on his latest single, “Fire” in April.
