Han Kang Once Again Nominated for Man Booker Prize


Korean writer Han Kang once again made it on The Man Booker International Prize’s longlist. The author was honored by the prize in 2016 with “The Vegetarian.”

On March 12, The Man Booker International Prize unveiled the longlist for the year, which included 13 titles including Han Kang’s “The White Book.”

Published in 2016, “The White Book” is a collection of short stories about “white things” in the world. The book was published in the United Kingdom in November last year in Deborah Smith’s translation. Smith won The Man Booker International Prize in 2016 with her translation of “The Vegetarian.”

The prize will release the shortlist on April 12. The winner will be announced on May 22. Winner of the prize will be awarded about $70,000, split between author and translator.
