Singer G-Dragon of the K-pop act Big Bang will model for fashion brand 8 Seconds in Korea and China, according to the brand on Monday.
The singer, who also goes by Kwon Ji-yong, will also collaborate with the brand for a year, during which he will participate in designing clothing.
“8 Seconds will branch out to the Chinese market in autumn, and we believed G-Dragon would be a perfect celebrity to help the brand quickly become widely known and to give a fresh image about the brand to Chinese consumers,” said a person affiliated with 8 Seconds.
G-Dragon has already met several times with 8 Seconds designers since April to help create items like “destroyed” jeans that have been pre-ripped, an MA1 jumper and a sukajan jacket.
“I’m very excited about collaborating with 8 Seconds, which is a representative K-fashion brand,” said the singer.
The collaboration items will become available starting Friday at several off-line stores, including the ones in Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, southern Seoul, Gangnam District in southern Seoul and Myeong-dong in central Seoul. They will also be available online at the SSF shopping mall, where Samsung C&T’s fashion brands are sold.
